Who Do You Serve?

We have a disproportionate view of authority in America. We think that just because someone is in a position of power over us, we must submit to them no matter what. People will say, “they know more than we do,” or “don’t challenge the status quo,” or even “there’s nothing we can do about, so just obey.” This is a slave mentality. Why would we simply submit to anything and everything just because someone in authority told us to? Churches teach and Christians believe that since Jesus said “render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s” that we must obey whatever government tells us to do (Mark 12:17). Wake up Christians. If your pastor teaches you the way to be subservient, he must not know how to read the Bible, or he is intentionally leading you astray.

I was fortunate to hear KrisAnne deliver her husband’s class on Righteous Resistance to Tyrannical Authority at the Anchorage Baptist Church. The building was huge. The sanctuary was full of believers who wanted to hear what the Bible really has to say about not yielding to tyranny. You’ll have to forgive me. I left my backpack  and notebook in the foyer and was unable to take detailed notes, so this is from memory. KrisAnne went through at least 10 different stories from both the Old and New Testament where God either encouraged resistance to law, or righteous men found favor in God’s eyes by breaking the law. You may not realize, but if you know something about the Bible, you probably know almost all of these stories! Jochebed, Moses’s mother, refused to submit to the Egyptian law that required Hebrews to kill their sons (Exodus 2). The apostles were thrown in jail for spreading the Word, but “an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors during the night. The angel brought them outside and said, ‘Go stand in the temple and continue to tell the people the whole message of life.’ As soon as they heard this, they went into the temple and taught” (Acts 5:19-20). Daniel resisted tyrannical authority twice and God rewarded him. First, Daniel refused to eat the required food in the kingdom and ate the wholesome food God desired for him to eat (Daniel 1). Then, Daniel blatantly defies the law that prohibits prayer to anyone but the king. He prayed three times a day, facing Jerusalem, so that all may know he would not bow to tyranny. He was thrown into the lion’s den, but the Lord delivered His faithful servant (Daniel 6). Daniel’s protegés, Shadrach Meshach and Abednego, literally stood up in the face of tyrannical rule. They did not bow the statue of the king and were thrown into the fiery furnace. As you know, God again delivered His faithful servants (Daniel 3).

You do not have to submit to authority that is oppressive! If someone tells you that even Jesus said to “render unto Caesar’s what is Caesar’s,” they do not truly understand Jesus’s words. Watch this short video of KrisAnne on this topic. She puts it better than I could ever dream of writing.

This message is not just for the Christians! The examples here are from the Bible to show Christians that disobeying the law does NOT make you a bad Christian, but disobeying God in favor of man’s law will NOT be rewarded. Recognizing and resisting tyranny is something all people must know how to do. You do not have to send your children to Common Core schools. You do not have to sign up for the Afforable Care Act. You do not have to serve customers that violate the beliefs your private business was founded upon. You do not have to submit to federal infringements on ANY of the reserved powers of the States. Why? Because that is oppressive and tyrannical government, and we will not comply. Who do you serve this day? Regardless of religious beliefs, let it not be despotic authority.

Listen Up, Ladies

Okay women, it’s about time to talk about something we should be very concerned with. I’ll start by saying this; I am no feminist. I do not associate myself with that word even in the slightest. Modern feminism is so messed up that I do not have enough time or room to write down all the issues I have with it. One thing is for sure, when I get called a “disgrace to women” BY ANOTHER WOMAN because I voted for a pro-life, female Republican legislator, something is seriously wrong. You always hear feminists say, “We need more female representation in government,” or have seen the popular, anti-gender role t-shirt that reads, “Women belong in the House and the Senate.” Hey, I agree. Women can kick major donkey behind! If feminists TRULY wanted more female representation, why would I be vilified for voting FOR a woman. Because she’s conservative, that’s why. They only want women in government who think the same way they do and who will adhere to their feminist agenda. I’m sorry, I don’t want this blog to focus on my personal distaste of this political movement and ideology, but I needed to let that out before I proceed.

When it comes to education, Americans are taught that women were oppressed, weaklings that had no rights and were simply subjects to their “chauvinistic husbands,” as KrisAnne puts it. This is a blatant, intentional lie. Today I got to listen to a class I haven’t hear yet: “Founding Mothers.” Let me tell you, I was moved to tears by what I learned. There are dozens, hundreds, even thousands of colonial women that are NEVER mentioned in the public education system. Names like Abigail Adams, Mercy Otis Warren, Penelope Barker, Hannah Winthrop, Mary Bartlet, and Elizabeth Adams are not present in out history books, except for maybe one. Do you know which is the only woman I knew about after completing high school? Abigail Adams. Otherwise, these brave, female patriots were unheard of before my time at Liberty First. I was absolutely dumbfounded when I heard about what these women did for the cause of liberty. Let me tell you about them briefly. Mercy Otis Warren was the FIRST female playwright and the FIRST female historian. She was no exception regarding female status and accomplishments. Abigail Adams was a trusted confidant and correspondent to many Founding Fathers. Hannah Winthrop wrote to other women and helped gather support. Penelope Barker organized over 55 women for the second Tea Party meeting. Elizabeth King offered up her home for this momentous gathering. Mary Bartlet watched her home be burned to the ground, fled with her children, and was able to sustain them ALONE. Elizabeth Adams never once complained that her husband was always gone because she understood the importance of the work that desperately needed to be done. In fact, it was the women who almost single-handedly destroyed the British linen industry in the colonies by using their resources to make their own linen. They then traveled around teaching other women how to avoid purchasing British linen by making it themselves. Does this sound like an oppressed group of weaklings to you?

I don’t know about you, but I look up to those women more than any of the supposedly “empowered” females in the political spotlight of today’s society. Women have always been empowered! General Cornwallis even said, “we may destroy all the men in America, and we shall still have all we can do to defeat the women.” Why, you ask? BECAUSE THEY HAD POWER. If we were truly concerned about empowering young women, why aren’t these female patriots being taught and celebrated in our schools? The reason is because it does not fit the liberal agenda. They do not want us to know the power we have; the power we have always had. Hillary Clinton is NOT someone I want my daughters to be taught to admire and look up. Progressives acts like Hillary Clinton becoming the first female presidential nominee shattered some “glass ceiling,” but frankly, it’s a disgrace to women everywhere. Out of the 308 million women in America, it is a shame that the first female nominee is a liar and a criminal, to put it nicely. Hillary Clinton will never have the smallest fraction of honor, dignity, intelligence, strength, integrity, or bravery that our Founding Mothers possessed. Those are the women I want my daughters to respect and aspire to be like.

I misspoke earlier when I said I don’t respect any females in today’s political spotlight. There is one whom I admire very much. That woman is KrisAnne Hall. I have been a long-time lover of the Constitution, but she has inspired and invigorated me to an even higher level of enthusiasm and instilled in me a greater drive to defend Liberty. In my opinion, she is a contemporary Mercy Otis Warren; working tirelessly to proclaim and diffuse knowledge and the truth. I don’t mean to make KrisAnne the object of personality worship, but to use her as an example. Young girls should look up to people like her instead of Hillary Clinton. Imagine what kind of empowerment women could feel if they only knew that they have always held great power and influence. They must only recognize it and put it to use. That is my hope for the future generations of fellow females.
